The Southwark Construction Skill Centre is a shared strategic and developmental partnership created to provide a world class training facility tailored to deliver an innovative ‘real life’ construction experience with a focus on those who live and work in Southwark, as well as the wider tri-borough (Lambeth,Lewisham, Southwark) area and beyond.

Our main aim is to increase employment and training opportunities in the construction sector for local people by using our centre as a complete service for on and off site training that guarantees a high-quality learner experience. We assist those wanting to commence working in the construction sector and upskilling those already in the sector, particularly local residents.

We are here to lead and support local employers, community groups, industry partners, further and higher education organisations and local stakeholders in every sector of construction to drive industry improvement.

We are passionate about inspiring and engaging young people to want to work in the construction sector and run a range of school engagement activities to highlight the range of opportunities available.

We are an approved CSCS test centre.

CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.

Our centre has 19 computers available meaning we can test a large number of candidates at the same time and on same day booking.
